Top software companies in Kuwait, compared

Every list like this is written by one of the companies on it, including this one. So here are the checkable facts instead of a ranking — and the cases where somebody else is the right call.

Kuwait's software and web development market includes Chrisans Group, eCubes, Kuwait Coders, Walnut Software Solutions, SMB Solutions, Nuba Soft, KuwaitDev and Ultra Systems. Most specialise rather than compete directly: Walnut and Kuwait Coders are Odoo partners, Chrisans is web-design led, and eCubes competes through bilingual content volume. Few publish prices, and fewer maintain genuine Arabic pages.

Search for the best software company in Kuwait and most of what comes back is written by a company hoping to be picked, usually without naming a single competitor. This list names all of them, states what each one is demonstrably good at, and says plainly where we are not the answer. Nothing below rates the quality of anyone's delivered work, because that is not observable from outside — what is observable is what each company specialises in, what credentials it holds, whether it will tell you a price, and whether it actually serves Arabic.

Who is actually in this market?

Disclosure first: Ultra Systems wrote this page and is on the list. Every fact here comes from each company's own public website on the dates in the sources, and each is checkable in a browser in under a minute — which is the only reason a list written by a competitor is worth reading.

The pattern worth noticing is that this is not one market. Four of the eight sell Odoo or ERPNext, which means they are implementing somebody else's product well rather than building yours. Two are web-design led. One competes almost entirely through content volume. Choosing between them starts with deciding which kind of work you are actually buying, not which company has the best homepage.

Which one should you talk to?

Matched to what you are buying, including the cases where we would lose the comparison on purpose.

  1. 1

You have decided on Odoo and want a partner tier behind it

Walnut Software Solutions is a certified Odoo Gold Partner and Kuwait Coders is an official Odoo Partner. We do not sell or implement Odoo at all, so on this requirement we are not a candidate, and saying otherwise would waste your time.

  2. 2

An ERP implementation has already failed and needs rescuing

Kuwait Coders publishes failed-ERP rescue as a named service, which is an unusual thing to advertise and suggests they have done it. SMB Solutions works across ERPNext, Odoo and SAP, which matters if the system being rescued is one of those.

  3. 3

You want retail POS and industry systems that already exist

SMB Solutions has the deepest catalogue of ready-made vertical products here — restaurant POS, clinic, property, fitness, time and attendance. Buying something already built is usually faster and cheaper than having it built, and we will tell you so.

  4. 4

You need a hotel, travel-agency or real-estate system this quarter

Walnut publishes all three as existing systems rather than as projects. A configured product beats a custom build when requirements are genuinely standard, and in these three sectors they often are.

  5. 5

You want a website from a long-established agency with a large back catalogue

Chrisans Group claims 15+ years and 350+ projects, which is a track record we cannot match and will not pretend to. If the deciding factor is years in business, they win it.

  6. 6

Budget is the binding constraint and you want an hourly rate

KuwaitDev publishes one in its page title, which is the most transparent pricing in this market. Hourly works when scope is genuinely unknown; it also transfers the risk of scope growth to you, which is the trade to understand before taking it.

  7. 7

The software has to fit how your business already works, and you want one team for the app, the database and the servers

This is ours. No per-user licence fees, source code and data transfer to you on completion, and the hosting is not subcontracted. It is also the case where a product-based competitor above is the cheaper answer if your process is standard — so the first honest question is whether yours is.

Why is a list like this usually useless?

Because of how it is made. A typical top-ten for this market is 300 to 400 words, names no competitor, scores nothing, and exists so that one company ranks for the search term. It is a landing page wearing an editorial costume, and it tells a buyer nothing they could not get from the homepage it is standing in for.

  • No ranking here, and no scores. Ordering eight companies by a number we invented would be the same trick in a different costume — the order above is simply the order this market is most often met in search.
  • Nothing here rates anyone's delivered work. We have not seen their code, their handovers or their support response times, and neither has anyone else publishing a list like this. Claiming otherwise is the part that is usually fabricated.
  • Only observable facts: specialism as each company states it, credentials each one publishes, whether a price exists on the public site, and whether Arabic pages genuinely exist rather than being claimed.
  • We are on the list, which is a real conflict of interest. The mitigation is that every row is checkable, and that the section above names six situations where a competitor is the better call.
  • Facts go stale. These were checked on the dates given in the sources. If something about your company is wrong or out of date, tell us and it gets corrected — this page is more useful to us accurate than flattering.

What should you check before signing with any of them?

Worth asking of every company above, including us. Each answer is either specific, or it is a warning.

  1. 1

Is the page or screen list in the contract, with a number on it?

A quote for a website with no list attached means everything you ask for after signing is a variation. This is the most common way a cheap quote becomes an expensive project in this market.

  2. 2

Is Arabic quoted as layout work or as translation?

If the line item is priced per word, only the translation has been quoted. Right-to-left changes navigation, forms, tables and printed output. Ask whether it is handled in the build or by a plugin that flips the page automatically, because the second one breaks on exactly the screens that matter.

  3. 3

Who owns the source code and the data when it is finished?

Get the answer in writing before work starts. If ownership transfers only on some condition, that condition is the thing to read carefully. A system you cannot take to another vendor has a hostage in it.

  4. 4

    What is explicitly not included?

Hosting, domain and SSL renewals, content and photography, Arabic content, payment gateway setup, migration of an existing site, and maintenance after launch. A vendor who answers this in specifics has scoped the work; one who says everything is included has not.

  5. 5

Can you speak to a client who is not a related party?

Ask specifically for an arm's-length reference, because in a market this size sister companies and friends of the founder are common.

  6. 6

Is there a commercial registration number on the site?

A published CR is the cheapest proof that the company you are paying is the company you think you are paying. It matters more than usual in Kuwait, where several firms run more than one trade name from one office.

If a company will not give you a number until you have given them yours, that is information too. Our full price list is published, and the cost calculator gives a range for your own project without asking for an email address.

Common questions

Short answers to what people ask about this most often.

Which is the best software company in Kuwait?

There is no single answer, and a page claiming one is selling rather than advising. This market splits into Odoo and ERPNext implementers (Walnut, Kuwait Coders, SMB Solutions, Nuba Soft), web-design-led agencies (Chrisans), content-led generalists (eCubes), and teams building custom software (KuwaitDev, Ultra Systems). Which is right depends on whether you are buying a configured product or a system built to your own process.

Why should I trust a comparison written by one of the companies in it?

Only as far as you can check it. Every fact in the table comes from the named company's own public website and can be verified in a browser in about a minute, and the sources are listed. Treat the disclosure as the point rather than the disclaimer: a list that names competitors, states the conflict, and identifies six situations where a competitor is the better call is a different object from one that names nobody.

Who is the official Odoo partner in Kuwait?

Walnut Software Solutions publishes certification as an Odoo Gold Partner, and Kuwait Coders publishes status as an official Odoo Partner. Partner tiers are awarded by Odoo and can be verified with Odoo directly, which is worth doing. A tier reflects certifications and delivery volume rather than anything about how one specific project will go. Ultra Systems does not implement Odoo.

Do software companies in Kuwait publish their prices?

Mostly not. Of the eight companies here, most publish no figures at all and ask you to request a proposal instead. KuwaitDev publishes an hourly rate, and Ultra Systems publishes a full starting price list and a cost calculator. A missing price is not automatically a warning sign, but it does mean you cannot compare two vendors without first asking both the same scoping questions.

Which Kuwait software companies have a genuine Arabic website?

Kuwait Coders is Arabic-first, KuwaitDev serves Arabic by default, and eCubes maintains Arabic pages with matching hreflang. Ultra Systems has Arabic pages but not yet full parity with its English ones. Chrisans, SMB Solutions, Nuba Soft and Walnut do not maintain real Arabic versions, though some target Arabic search terms without them. This matters because a large share of commercial search in Kuwait happens in Arabic.

How many software companies are there in Kuwait?

Far more than eight. The eight here are the ones that surface repeatedly for commercial software, ERP and web searches in Kuwait, in English or in Arabic, and that maintain enough of a public site to compare. Smaller studios and individual contractors make up a large part of the real market, and are frequently the right answer for a small, well-defined project.

Should I choose a specialist or a full-stack company?

A specialist, if your requirement is standard and matches what they already sell — a configured Odoo module or an existing retail POS will be faster and cheaper than a custom build. A full-stack team, if the software has to fit a process you are not willing to change, or if you want the application, the database and the hosting answerable to one party. Working out which of the two you have is the first useful question.

What does it cost to work with a software company in Kuwait?

Researched Kuwait market ranges put a basic business website at KD 300 to 800, an online store from around KD 1,200, a mobile app from KD 2,500, and a four-to-six module ERP implementation at roughly KD 5,500 to 15,000. Our own starting prices are published in full, from KD 300 for a one-page profile to KD 1,800 for an ERP first phase.
